In the Mirror of Death
with Kirsten DeLeo
Friday 20 September, 7:30pm to Sunday 22 September, 1pm
This weekend retreat is an introduction to the Tibetan Buddhist understanding of death and dying.
We all know we and those we love will die. Regardless of our background – spiritual or otherwise – this retreat can help us face and transform fear and uncertainty, prepare for death and support others to die in peace.
This retreat guides participants through the essential teachings on death and dying from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Through their practical advice, timeless wisdom and sacred inspiration we can find the courage to meet death with less fear, and even discover a sense of trust and confidence.
Join us for a retreat where we look in the mirror of death in which we can see, not only the inevitable reality of death reflected, but the entire meaning and joy of life as well.
This retreat is for you if:
You wish to make friends with your own mortality and want to explore your ideas and feelings in a supportive environment
You are being confronted with the loss of a loved one and want to feel less helpless in the face of death
You want to explore the spiritual perspectives on this topic

The inspiration for this retreat
The retreat is inspired by The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying and led by Kirsten DeLeo, a longtime Buddhist practitioner, teacher and author with many years of experience accompanying the dying.
Location
The retreat will be held in our new Dzogchen Beara Temple. With expansive views across the bay, the temple is a modern example of a traditional Tibetan monastery, a form of architecture designed to be an inspiring symbol of the Buddha’s teachings for our times.
Dzogchen Beara Retreat Centre/ West Cork, Ireland is a 2 hour-drive from the Cork and Kerry airports.
